The Fingal Centre’s Back Up Family Support programme aims to:
- Improve quality of life for families.
- Help families to respond positively to difficult situations.
- Develop effective communication within the family.
- Provide factual information & support in addressing alcohol/drug issues.
- Create awareness with teenagers.
For parents, the programme offers assistance in understanding difficult behaviour, drug & alcohol awareness, and building communication skills.
For teenagers, Back Up Family Support offers advice on how to deal with bullying and peer pressure, drug and alcohol awareness, building communication and issues and challenges facing young people.
Food is provided at every session, and there are also frequent social outings for each group.
