Centre closed January 26th 2011

Please note that The Fingal Centre will be closed for business on Wednesday, January 26th 2011 in order to facilitate staff training. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Centre will reopen as normal on Thursday 27th at 9:00AM.

Adverse Weather Conditions

UPDATE, Monday 6th December: The Fingal Centre will be open for business as usual today.

Due to the adverse weather conditions, The Fingal Centre has been closed since Wednesday and will also be closed tomorrow (Friday, December 3rd). Staff training due to take place tomorrow has been cancelled. A fundraising event scheduled to be held on Saturday in Marks & Spencer, Blanchardstown has also been postponed until further notice.

We hope to be able to open the Centre for business as usual on Monday 6th December. We will post further updates here.

A Better, Fairer Way: National Demonstration, November 27th

Support the National Demonstration Against the Cuts - 12 noon on Nov 27th at Wood Quay Dublin

Age Action Public Meeting

Age Action are to hold a public meeting to enable older people to tell politicians their needs ahead of the upcoming Budget. The meeting will be held at the Arlington Hotel, O’ Connell Bridge, Dublin at 11AM on Wednesday, November 17th.

Finglas Suicide Network: Facing Up To Suicide

Facing Up To Suicide PosterThe Finglas Suicide Network are to hold a public seminar entitled “Facing Up To Suicide”. The seminar will take place from 7:00p.m. to 9:30p.m. on Thursday, 28th October in the Ardmore Hotel, Tolka Valley, Dublin 11. Admission is free.

FSN extends a special invitation to attend to:

  • People with suicidal feelings.
  • Those who have been bereaved by suicide.
  • Those who are trying to support a family member or friend who is suicidal.
  • Professionals providing counselling to suicidal people or victims of suicide.

Speakers on the night will be Rev Dr Tony Byrne CSSp and Sr Kathleen Maguire PVBM, MA, both of whom have been working in the field of suicide prevention/bereavement in Ireland and abroad for many years.

There will be no group discussions on the night, but there will be an opportunity to ask questions. Tea and coffee will be served on arrival.

Claiming Our Future

Claiming our Futures ExhibitionThe ‘Claiming Our Future’ event takes place in the Industries Hall of the RDS in Dublin on 30th October 2010. People from a wide range of civil society sectors are meeting to stake our claim to, and articulate our vision of, Ireland’s future. Trade union, cultural, community, developing world, disability, rural, environmental, migrant worker, student and youth groups are amongst those taking part.

Day of Action, September 29th

This Wednesday, September 29th, will see trade unions and community organizations across Europe take part in protests against austerity measures. In Dublin, the protest will coincide with the first Dáil session following the summer break. The theme of the protest is Jobs Not Cuts. The protest gathering will take place from 1:00pm — 2:00pm outside Leinster House.
