Baby Massage course up and running
Posted on: Tuesday January 31st, 2012

Our Active Parenting Service has begun its spring baby massage course. The programme began on 30th January and will be held every Monday morning for the next five weeks. The group currently meet in Mater Christi School, Cappagh. At present, there are eight babies on board and they’re enjoying every minute.

Some benefits of Infant Massage

  • Helps relieve common ailments such as colic and gas in newborns.
  • Eases other discomforts experienced throughout infancy, such as teething and sleeping difficulties.
  • Relaxes and soothes your baby and is a pleasurable experience for both parent and child.
  • Loving touch lessens tension, fussiness and irritability.
  • Massage helps with development of motor skills and coordination.
  •  It has also been shown to help new mothers in recovery from post-natal depression.
